Well, it's just me and the dog tonight. AGAIN...is it bad I'm ready for the fall the come already so things will slow down? Steve has been taking an EMT refresher class and was gone the weekends he wasn't working. Then last Wed and this evening has had to do practice for the practical exam to get his Wisconsin license, and then will have to take the NREMT test some weekend coming up I'm sure. It sucks that he's been gone so much, but I know this will be good in the long run. One less thing he'll have to worry about during A school. I just want him to be done now, so we can enjoy a few weekends before summer hits full force. Because this summer we want to do as many fun things as possible.
I'll admit, I'd be perfectly fine camping every other weekend with our friends, swimming, camp fires, fishing. I want to make the most of it because last year we didn't take the time to do things like that and poof the summer was gone. Now that we've established some great friendships (and Steve is working at the Island w/2 of the guys that we've become friends with) us girls have made some preliminary plans to spend as much time outside, at the farmer's market and getting coffee as we can. I sure hope my schedule will allow a good amount of time for those things to happen, and I sure hope we have good weather for the most part this summer.
It's awesome having friends here to hang out with. I don't know that we did a lot of hanging out with friends in Michigan because we were so spread out, 30-45 min drives down to camp or up to Kzoo meant not a lot of time w/friends. Here though, I spend at least 1 or 2 days each week with friends. It shows me just how much God has blessed us when we trusted Him to put us in a place where He needed us. And that is a whole post to write some other day.
Anyways, things are busy but going well here. We started a Dave Ramsey financial class back in March, and have 7 more weeks left. We are still helping out with the youth every other Wednesday and Steve is almost done with this EMT stuff. I've been debating about going back to school. I like my job, but I find myself missing the classroom environment. I know that's what I disliked the most at KinderCare, but I don't want to go back to a place like KinderCare. I want to be in a Christian preschool or other preschool type setting where the enrollment is set and the same kids show up at the same times every day. I just don't know if I need to get an Early Childhood Education degree or if my Bachelor's and Child Development certificate are enough. So many questions, not enough time to find out the answers. I'm quite sure I won't be quitting my current job anytime soon though, these thoughts are more future oriented for when we have kids and I want to go back to work. I'd much rather get another degree now before we have a little one so it's not as stressful to finish the school work. Definitely taking this to the Lord in prayer because I don't have the answers for life, He does.
